The least sexy musical genre musicals, survey finds

Musicals aren’t sexy, according to a survey conducted by Symphony Hall Birmingham.

The poll asked more than 2,000 Britons what music they prefer to listen to with their lovers during an intimate activity in their bedroom. Entrants had to choose from a list of 19 musical genres, which included heavy metal, country, classical, religious and, yes, musicals.

The participants made their choices… and the musicals ended up last.

You read correctly. Even Cannibal Corpse, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Beethoven have more sex appeal than La La Land.

Unsurprisingly, 16% of those surveyed chose R&B as their favorite chamber music, making it the sexiest musical genre in the survey.

Additionally, the survey found that 43% of respondents listen to music during lovemaking itself. It is, however, something that young people are more likely to do.

Sixty percent of respondents between the ages of 18 and 24 listen to music while they become intimate. In contrast, only 38% of those over 55 do so.

Apparently, marital status also influences this practice. Sixty-two percent of single lovers enjoy listening to music during sexy time, while only 28% of those who have ever married do.

Here are the survey results for the most popular music genres for the bedroom:
