Lindsay Ell to co-host Canadian Country Music Association Awards, named host of Canada’s Got Talent

Calgary expatriate Lindsey Ell will co-host this year’s Canadian Country Music Association Awards in London, Ont. On November 29 alongside Priyanka, winner of Season 1 of Drag Race in Canada.

The awards, which will be broadcast live, will also include performances by Dallas Smith, Tenille Arts, The Recklaws, Tim Hicks and Don Amero. Ell, a former Calgary teenage guitar prodigy who lives in Nashville, was also nominated for five CCMAs this year, making her the most nominated female artist of 2021. She is shortlisted for the album. year for Heart Theory, Video of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year and Interactive Artist or Group of the Year. Earlier this year, Heart Theory was nominated for a Juno in the Best Country Album category.

It was the start of a few productive years for the artist, discovered as an early talented guitarist by Randy Bachman when she was still a teenager in Calgary. She is also embarking on her first headlining Canadian tour, which brings her to the Palace Theater in Calgary on November 20.

Ell spent three years writing Heart Theory, which spawned No. 1 Canadian hit Want Me Back. What Happens in a Small Town, his duet with singer Brantley Gilbert, reached No. 1 in the United States in 2019.

In 2020, Ell also launched #MakeYouMovement with the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee to support at-risk youth and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Ell started performing at the age of 10 in Calgary and moved to Nashville over ten years ago.
