Country music star Rodney Atkins entertains a packed house at Prairie Band Casino and Resort


TOPEKA (KSNT) Country music star Rodney Atkins stopped by the Prairie Band Casino and Resort on Thursday night to perform his award-winning songs to a full house.

Rodney Atkins, born March 1969 in Knoxville, Tennessee, put his first single on the country charts in 1997. His first album release was with Honesty in 2003. This album included the song of the same name from the album, Honesty which made it to number four on the country music charts.

His second album, If you go through hell, was released in 2006. Two songs from this album reached number one on the country music charts, If you go through hell and Looking at you.

Atkins released several other number one songs from 2006 to 2009 including, These are my people, Clean my gun and This is america and many top five hits such as Farmer’s Daughter and Take a side road.

His latest album, titled Rodney Atkins, was released in 2010 and has a The biggest hits album released in 2019.

Atkins received six Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association nominations and was Best New Male Vocalist in 2006.
