Country music star Cliona Hagan and fiancé Simon Sheerin kick off wedding celebrations in style

Simon and Cliona, who both work in the music business, are due to say ‘yes’ to each other later this month, but they’ve already started celebrating with friends and family

Cliona Hagan and her fiancé Simon Sheerin are preparing to get married and started the celebrations early with a pre-wedding party.

The country music singer took to Instagram to share a gorgeous video of herself and Simon surrounded by family and friends as they toasted the happy couple ahead of their nuptials.

“And it begins… #premarriage,” Cliona told her 48,000 followers.

In the video, Cliona looks stunning in a black dress, while Simon looks handsome in a pink shirt.

The party venue featured a marquee and was filled with personalized glasses, balloons that read “Mr and Mrs to be Cliona & Simon” and beautiful white flowers.

Cliona and Simon got engaged in December 2020 and will say ‘yes’ to each other in a church wedding near Simon’s home in Westmeath before celebrating with a reception at the beautiful Kilronan Castle in Roscommon.

Cliona told RSVP Country: “I was here a few years ago with my friend and we had a pampering day with afternoon tea and had our nails done.

“I remember thinking it was so beautiful and, for a castle, it wasn’t cold and it had a warm atmosphere. Everything about it reflects on us as people.”

Simon added: “It’s a really welcoming place.”

Former Dancing with the Stars contestant Cliona worked with celebrity fashion designer Geraldine O’Meara on the design of her wedding dress – and we can’t wait to see it.

“It has a lower back with Pippa Middleton-style buttons that extend into a long trail – but it can be undone for dancing!” she says.

“It’s a brilliant white, I didn’t realize there were about five billion shades of white [laughs]. Of course, there’s a lot of bling too.”

Simon and Cliona met when he was the band’s musical director. They had been friends for years before their relationship turned romantic.

“It was great because he already knew my parents and my older sisters, so it was really easy to transition when we decided to become a couple,” she said.

“Usually people are embarrassed to be introduced to family and friends, but we have to skip a few chapters.

“He fitted in perfectly in our bubble because he is very easy-going and a pure gentleman.”
